This was our first stay at the Inn. At first, we were a little concerned about the location, but after we arrived all concerns were gone. The Inn staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms were very nice and very comfy. The beds are the most confortable I have slept in. The best feature of the Inn is the shuttle service. They will take you to your destination and pick you up when you are ready. Great service for those who are planning a night on the town. No traffic worries! I will stay here again!! Loved it!!
We were not able to enjoy the breakfast buffet because of crowding and lack of food. There wasnt any room to sit and the buffet was not replenished. Silverware was scarce. When a guest asked if they had any forks, she was told no, to eat with a spoon. We decided to wait an hour and come back and see if it was any better. after an hour, the food was still not replenished so we checked out and went somewhere else for breakfast.
1) Most beautiful hotel ever; outside and inside. 2) Most relaxing atmosphere 3) Excellent breakfast
Servies and breakfast was great!
Excellent experience we particularly liked the on-demand shuttle bus.Our only criticism would be that our room (2201) didn't have any curtains to keep out the light!Excellent breakfast and really really great staff
We really liked the buildings and the room. The staff were friendly and helpful and the free hotel delivery and pick-up service in downtown Detroit was very much appreciated.
This is the second time I return to this hotel. The staff is very warm and helpful. The rooms are all unique, the toiletries provided are of excellent quality, the lawns well-kept, linden trees under the windows - in full bloom, etc. etc. etc. All in all, this is a great hotel with its own personality.
There was a small problem with my room (1301 or 1303, I don't remember) - the mattress had a faint smell, I think it really, really needs airing. This is the only problem for my stay and I hope the staff will fix it shortly. All other things we great - ah, wait, no green tea on day 1, and no green tea on day 2 of my stay. Please re-stock.
Wonderfiul historic building and staff. Fabulous staff culture and concern for guests. Great food.
Dining room could get a little crowded at breakfast
Very much liked the concept of the historical Inn and overall enjoyed our stay.
Sheets were scratchy and costs were a little pricey.
Totally enjoyed the old architecture and furniture. Door Man was a wealth of knowledge about the area and buildings, which was a big plus.
I had issues with the food being wisked away before 10 am. If it states that breakfast is from 7-10, then no foods should be taken from the eating area prior to 10 am. If I had gotten to the breakfast room at 5 minutes to 10, I should be able to get everything that was available at 7 am. Other than that the breakfast was fine.
Everything. We loved the antique-style atmosphere coupled with contemporary features at the same time (the jacuzzi bath and flat screen T.V. were nice bonus items that added to the comfort, without taking away the old-style theme that has been preserved. The houses were beautiful and the carriage house was very pretty too.
Nothing - everything was terrific.
We love the old home atmosphere---the location---the delicious breakfast
These are not complaints---just suggestions: the sink in our room leaks it would be nice to have a hook in the bathroom for clothes. It seems there are places for it.
I really like the inn- this was our second stay and even though the room was a bit above-budget, we booked because of the convenient location and the luxurious amenities.
The front desk person was a bit curt when we first arrived. I also think that more savory options at breakfast would be nice.
An unusual hotel which lived up to the description on the web site. Complimentary cookies and water on arrival was much appreciated as was the free shuttle service to anywhere within 5 miles, we used this several times. Decor was good and well thought out in relation to the period of the building. Breakfast was good.
Downside was that there was not much choice close by for an evening meal but there was a quick and efficient room service provided. Having to carry our suitcases up a lot of stairs was also a downside of this hotel especially as we were on a months travelling holiday. For some people less able than us this would have been a problem.
The quietness, the fact the desk is allways open, the helpfullnes and kindnes of the tsaf, the coffee & tea facitities and of course the fantastic breakfast.
